Well if you, ever plan to motor west,
follow my way, along the downs way at its best,
take your time, along the A259.

Well it starts beyond Hastings in the East,
cross the marshes through Bexhill and Pevensey,
take your time, along the A259.

Eastbourne beach is so neat,
Beachy Head and Excete,
Seaford Town so pretty,
Newhaven, - such a pity,
then you’ll see, the cliffs at Telscombe,
and Saltdeans plush lido,
then on into Brighton,
not to mention Kemptown,
Hove, Portslade and Shoreham on Sea.

But after that, my directions start to flap,
after Worthing, I must consult the map.
Take your time, along the A259.
